New Delhi: As speculations are getting rife about Rahul Gandhi being appointed as Congress` prime ministerial candidate for 2014 General elections in January, Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari on Tuesday said that the Congress vice president will play a big role in the future.

Speaking to a news channel, the Union Minister dismissed reports of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tendering resignation fro making way for Rahul.
Speculation regarding DR Singh`s resignation were triggered by the PM`s decision to hold a rare press conference here on January 03, which will only be the third of his current tenure.
The All-India Congress Committee is to meet on January 17 that may see party workers clamour for formally naming Rahul Gandhi as the PM candidate.

In September, the Prime Minister had described Rahul Gandhi as an ideal PM candidate for 2014 and even added for effect, that he would be happy to serve under him.
