Three persons, including a Malayalam film director and a journalist, today embarked on a 75-day trip criss-crossing various countries in a car to cover 27 countries.

Kochi: Three persons, including a Malayalam film director and a journalist, today embarked on a 75-day trip criss-crossing various countries in a car to cover 27 countries.

The trip, covering 24,000 km and two continents, was flagged-off by Malayalam film actors--Anoop Menon and Nameetha Pradeep.

The three-- Suresh Joseph, former General Manager of Dubai Ports, ace film director Lal Jose and Auto journalist Baiju N Nair said their purpose of undertaking the journey was to carry messages of `World Peace`.

The Indian leg will include Bangalore, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Jabalpur and Gorakhpur.

They will enter Nepal and then cross over to Tibet, where they will visit the base camp of Mount Everest and Lhasa, from where the journey will take them to Europe through China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Russia.

They will then drive through Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ireland and reach London, Baiju said.

Joseph is presently working as consultant in Trans Asian Shipping Services Limited here and is a seasoned traveller who entered the Limca Book of Records 2012 by undertaking a solo car trip covering 28 Indian states and the 17 Indian Railway Zonal headquarters, spanning 23,355 km in 124 days, becoming the first person to do so, in a `Maruti Swift`.

In 2013, Joseph undertook four solo expeditions in a Swift across India, the first person to do so in a year, and earned seven record entries in the Limca Book of Records 2014.

A `passionate traveller`, he has travelled extensively in India, Asia, Europe and the Far East. His previous driving experiences outside India include a 14-day tour of the United Kingdom in a Fiat Punto, even sleeping in it for 12 days.

Lal Jose, who won accolades for his `Diamond Necklace`, `Immanuel`, `Meesa Madhavan`, `Classmates`, `Chanthupottu` and `Arabikatha` said he was looking forward to the exciting journey of a lifetime in a car. His longest journey earlier was a 10-day Trans-Siberian Railway experience.

Baiju is the Chief Editor of SMARTDRIVE, the automobile magazine, published in Malayalam and English and also anchors a popular weekly automobile programme in a television channel.

The journey is estimated to cost Rs 75 lakh.
