New Delhi: After Bengal BJP leaders said that former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly needed time to consider Bharatiya Janata Party`s offer to contest the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, reports on Sunday suggested that he could decline the offer.
It was reported that while in Mumbai for a TV shoot at the Wankhede stadium, Ganguly agreed that he was indeed offered a seat by the BJP, but was unsure of it.
"Yes, I have got it. I have not decided anything," Ganguly said on the sidelines of an event in Kolkata.
"But it is a big decision to make. I have to sort out many things," Ganguly, one of the best brains Indian cricket has seen, told a tv news channel.
When asked if he would follow his opening partner Sachin Tendulkar to the Rajya Sabha, he said, "I have not given it a thought yet."
It had been reported that he had been approached by BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who promised to make the stylish southpaw the sports minister in the Cabinet if the party came to power.

West Bengal BJP president Rahul Sinha had on Saturday said, “Varun Gandhi recently approached Sourav Ganguly with the offer. We have told him that he can contest from any seat of his choice. Ganguly has not yet said yes. He said he will consider. He has sought some time to think over it."
