Patna: AICC Treasurer Motilal Vora
downplayed reports of resignations by some party leaders from
the new executive committee set up by state unit president
Anil Sharma, apparently to protest Sharma`s leadership.

"I know as much as you do about the matter (reports of
resignation by the leaders). Party leaders and workers should
work together and be disciplined," he told reporters here.

He refused to either confirm or deny reports that some
state leaders have submitted resignation letters from the
executive committee to the high command, but said, "The matter
will be sorted out in the best interests of the party."

The AICC treasurer was on a day-long visit here to
meet Governor Devanand Kunwar and state government officials,
seeking measures to get some party properties occupied by
encroachers vacated.

Sharma too had expressed ignorance about resignations
by some leaders in protest against his leadership and said it
was for the high command to look into the issue.

He hit back at his detractors saying they were trying
to weaken the party and its electoral prospects in the
forthcoming assembly polls.

Sharma also questioned the loyalty of his adversaries
saying many of them were party hoppers.
