New Delhi: Zee News takes great pride in honouring the Real Heroes of our Nation. The Ananya Samman Award ceremony which was held at The Ashok Hotel on December 18, 2009, was a podium to reward the courageous Heroes of our Motherland who sacrificed their lives to protect the nation and its people.
The award ceremony was anchored by veteran Zee News anchor Mimansa Malik and and actor Tom Alter.
To pay homage to the brave soldiers, Zee News honoured them with the ‘Ananya Samman Award’ for their undying spirit, amazing valour and their endeavour to shatter the designs of the enemy to penetrate our borders.
Some of the soldiers who were honoured at the awards are,` Marshal Arjan Singh(Indian Army)Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja(Indian Air Force), DIG K Srinavasan, Deputy commander NND Dubey (BSF), Major Mohit Sharma, Major Akash Singh(Indian Army), Dev Kumar, Ajay Singh, Desha Singh, Roop Singh (Constable, ITBP), Leading Seaman Chandrashekhar(Indian Navy), Air Commodore AK Sinha (Indian Air Force), Manoj Kumar (Inspector, ITBP), Deputy Commander Sh. Diwakar Tiwari (CRPF), Francis Induvar (Inspector, Jharkhand Police), Vijeto Tini (Deputy commandant, CRPF), Saugata Karmakar (Election Officer).
Renowned Politicians, Ministers, Government officials and other eminent members of society like LK Advani, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Shivraj Patil, Farooq Abdullah, Marshal Arjan Singh, Virbhadra Singh, Harish Rawat, Krishna Teerath, Jaipal Reddy, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Shahnawaz Hussain, Shivraj Chauhan, Motilal Vohra, Mohsina Kidwai, Ahmed Patel, EC Navin Chawla, Jayaprada and many more graced the occasion with their presence.
