Washington: China has reportedly blasted several US tech giants for allegedly stealing their state secrets, suggesting that the companies be severely punished and that new rules be put in place.
According to a report, Chinese media on Wednesday criticized US tech companies Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Yahoo, and Cisco Systems for cooperating with the National Security Agency`s Prism program to monitor China.
As revealed in the documents leaked by whistle-blower Edward Snowden, the `PRISM` program was designed to gather and process foreign intelligence that passes through American servers.
Google was accused of giving the government access to its data, while the internet search giant clearly denied the charges.
The latest move comes in wake of formal complaints made by the US in May against several Chinese military officials, charging them of hacking into US corporate servers and stealing American trade secrets, which China denied calling US hypocrite.
