Instagram introduces looped-video app Boomerang

Washington: Instagram has announced a new app that lets users string photos together into a video that can be looped back and forth.

To use Boomerang, users simply choose something to shoot -- preferably something that's moving -- and the app takes a burst of photos, then strings them together into a high-quality video.

The video can be played both forward and backward, and the result can be shared to Instagram or Facebook.

Boomerang is available beginning Thursday for iOS and Android.
