New Delhi: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Jyoti Prasad Rajkhowa and the Centre are likely to file their replies in the Supreme Court today on petitions justifying the imposition of the President's rule in the state.

Earlier on Wednesday, a five-judge bench of apex court had admitted petitions filed by the Congress leaders over the imposition of the President's rule saying it is too serious matter.

The bench had sought replies from the Governor and the Union Ministry of Home Affairs by today.

Meanwhile, former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki yesterday filed a fresh petition in the Supreme Court challenging the promulgation.

President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday had given his assent to Union Cabinet's decision to impose the President's Rule in Arunachal Pradesh.

The six month mandatory period to have an Assembly session in the state had lapsed on 21st of this month.
