Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik faced embarrassment on Wednesday when he tweeted about the demise of yesteryear actress Manimala Devi.
90-year-old Manimala Devi, renowned actress in Odia cinema, is admitted in a critical condition at a private hospital in the state capital. She is on ventilator support and suffering from old age problems.
The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) chief's tweet condoling Manimala Devi's death, created confusion.
However, as soon the Odisha CM was informed that the actress was still recuperating in hospital, he at once deleted the tweet.
Born on June 19,1931, Manimala Devi entered into films in 1960.
She made her debut in films with an Odia film Sri Lokanath.
