Desecration of holy book: Two arrested in Faridkot by Punjab Police

Punjab Additional Director General of Police IPS Sahota on Tuesday said two accused in sacrilege of the Guru Granth Sahib have been arrested.

Chandigarh: Punjab Additional Director General of Police (ADGP, Crime) IPS Sahota on Tuesday said two accused in sacrilege of the Guru Granth Sahib at Bargari village in Faridkot District have been arrested.

"The accused have been identified as Rupinder Singh and his brother Jaswinder. Their involvement in the crime came to fore after police intercepted their calls," said the ADGP.

"Their call record establishes their links to Dubai and Australia," said Sahota, adding that the conversations between the brothers also revealed that they had perpetrated the crime.

He also said that five out of seven Guru Granth Sahib desecration cases have been solved so far
