Boy rescued from borewell, dies on way to hospital in Jaipur

A three-and-half year old boy who accidentally fell into a 100-feet-deep borewell in Nikaj village of Alwar district was rescued early today but died on the way to the hospital.

Jaipur: A three-and-half year old boy who accidentally fell into a 100-feet-deep borewell in Nikaj village of Alwar district was rescued early today but died on the way to the hospital.

The boy, Priyanshu, had fallen into the borewell yesterday following which a rescue operation was launched, police said.

He was pulled out alive at around 2 am today but died on way to the hospital, said Superintendent of Police, Alwar, Ajay Lamba.

Doctors declared him dead at the district hospital, which was nearly 60 kms from the village, he added.

Rescue operation was conducted jointly by the police and administration, Army and disaster management department and the boy was pulled out with the help of a hook and a rope, a police official said.

The boy was playing near the borewell in an agriculture farm land where his parents were also present when he accidentally fell into the borewell and got stuck at a dept of 46 feet.

Officials informed that the body has been handed over to family members after postmortem.
