Four poachers held for killing spotted deers

Four poachers were arrested by the forest department for allegedly electrocuting to death two spotted deers in Pench Tiger Reserve's Ari buffer zone.

Seoni (MP): Four poachers were arrested by the forest department for allegedly electrocuting to death two spotted deers in Pench Tiger Reserve's Ari buffer zone.

The poachers were arrested by the forest officials yesterday, Ari Range Officer Vivek Nag said today.

The poachers laid live wire at an agriculture field adjacent to forest area near Dulhapur village. Two deers got trapped there and died of electrocution on the intervening night of December 22-23, he said.

The poachers escaped from the spot soon after the forest team was alerted about the incident.

However, they were arrested yesterday and identified as Bhagchand, Munnilal Gond, Ashok Dond and Rajkumar Gond, Nag said.

A case has been registered in this regard, he added.
