London: A team of Scientists at the University of Virginia have taken inspiration from Microsoft`s gaming sensor Kinect to develop Kintense that will help monitor a people`s aggressive behaviour before they even swing a punch.
According to New Scientist, Kintense creates a real-time 3D skeleton figure of the person and identifies movements made by the model to note violent acts like kicking, pushing, hitting and throwing.
The system, which was designed by Shahriar Nirjon and colleagues, was created for the purpose of warning medical staff if a patient is acting violently.
However, the new technique can also be used in security cameras.
