Attorney General of Pakistan Munir A. Malik is reportedly going to resign from his office on Friday, sources have revealed.

Islamabad: Attorney General of Pakistan Munir A. Malik is reportedly going to resign from his office on Friday, sources have revealed.

Malik, appointed on the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, had decided to leave his office after Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry`s retirement.

However, Malik had decided to continue till the Sharif government found his replacement, which would now be Advocate Salman Butt , The Nation reports.

Malik, former president of the SCBA, was in the forefront of the famous lawyers` movement for the independence of the judiciary and would be travelling abroad for medical treatment of his ailing wife.
