2013 Malleshwaram BJP office blast case: Explosives supplier arrested from Tirunelveli

Daniel had stolen gelatin sticks and explosives meant for a water-canal project.

Bengaluru: Taking forward its probe into the 2013 Malleshwaram BJP office blast case, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Karnataka Police, Tuesday, arrested the man who supplied explosives for the act.

35-year-old Daniel Prakash was arrested from Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu vy CCB slueths.

As per investigators, Daniel had stolen gelatin sticks and explosives meant for a water-canal project and sold it to Syed Ali for Rs 2,000.

Reports added that Daniel and Syed Ali are childhood friends.

Daniel is a history-sheeter and had served time in jail. He was released but jumped bail and has been on the run ever since before being caught by the Karnataka police.

The April 17, 2013 blast outside the BJP office had injured 18 people besides causing damage to a number of vehicles and buildings.
