No corruption in appointments in government departments: Puducherry CM

Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy on Monday said there was no room for corruption or malpractices in filling vacant posts in government departments.

Puducherry: Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy on Monday said there was no room for corruption or malpractices in filling vacant posts in government departments.

Declaring open a Rs six crore government hostel for girl students of higher education institutions belonging to the SC here today, he said the appointments would be only on the basis of merits and in keeping with the policies of reservation.

Merits and reservation policy is the yardsticks for posting of the employees, he said.

He said that the welfare of scheduled castes had been taken care of under various schemes. The Special Component plan exclusively evolved for the downtrodden and their welfare was being implemented fast.

He said the hostel for girl students belonging to Adi Dravidar community can accommodate around 250 students.

The hostel had been constructed with the assistance provided by Union Social Justice and Women Empowerment Ministry under the Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatrawas Yojana.
