Bhatta-Parsaul rape case: Arrest warrant against SSP

The NCSC has issued an arrest warrant against the SSP of Gautam Buddha Nagar district for his "failure" to act in the alleged Bhatta-Parsaul rape cases.

Lucknow: The National Commission for
Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has issued an arrest warrant against
the SSP of Gautam Buddha Nagar district for his "failure" to
act in the alleged Bhatta-Parsaul rape cases.

NCSC Chairman P L Punia yesterday directed Uttar Pradesh
Director General of Police to arrest Jyoti Narayan, SSP,
Gautam Budh Nagar and produce him before the Commission on
October 25.

On August 16, the Commission, after receiving affidavits
from seven alleged rape victims, had asked the UP police to
lodge FIRs against policemen for committing the rapes.

However, the Commission later said that the police had
ignored the order.

"The SSP was summoned four times to be present at the
Commission, but he never turned up. The police informed us a
CB-CID probe had been ordered," the Commission had said.

However, state DGP Brijlal today refused to comment on
the matter.
