BJP the main target, Samajwadi Party secondary: Prashant Kishor to Congress leaders

Lucknow: Prashant Kishor, the most talked about person in the political arena, on Thursday made it clear to the Congress leaders that he wants the grand old party to form government in 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections and not just focus on increasing its numbers.

According to 'The Indian Express' report, Kishor, who has been roped in by the Congress to help it in UP and Gujarat Assembly Elections, told the Congress members that the main target is the BJP.

The star poll strategist directed the state, district and city unit level office-bearers to fill up a 12-page feedback form.

In a bid to galvanise the party for the 2017 state Assembly Elections, Prashnat Kishor held a marathon meeting with the Congress members in Lucknow and asked to them to contest the elections with the confidence they can win.

The poll strategist who is credited with planning the astounding victory of 'Mahagathbandhan' in Bihar, and was earlier roped in by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his immensely successful 2014 Lok Sabha campaign, asked the Congress members to inform him about the reasons behind BJP's win in the crucial state.

Kishor categorically told the gathering that they should consider BJP as the main target, while the ruling Samajwadi Party should be considered as secondary.

Reacting to the development, BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak wondered as to how the party of Nehru-Gandhi was "banking" on the charisma of Kishor rather than relying on Sonia Gandhi and Rahul to "regain its lost moorings" in the state.
