New Delhi: Days after commenting on the ongoing gold hunt in Unnao`s Daundia Kheda village, BJP`s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that he respects the seer, Shobhan Sarkar, whose dream reportedly led to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) excavate the remains of old fort in search of 1000-tonnes of gold buried there.
Modi tweeted that he salutes the sacrifice made by the seer and that lakhs of people have had faith on the saint for the past several years.
"Sant Shobhan Sarkar ke prati anek varshon se lakhon logo ki shraddha judi hui hai, main unki tapasya aur tyaag to pranaam karta hoon,"Modi tweeted.

He further tweeted asking the Centre to present a white paper on black money stashed abroad.

Modi had earlier taken a dig at the UPA government as the ASI began digging the 19th century fort in search of the hidden golden treasure.
"The government has started to dig for some 1,000 tonnes gold, after someone dreamt of it. You bring back the money that the looters have stashed in Swiss banks. That would be more than the value of 1,000 tonnes of gold," he reportedly said during a rally in Chennai.
Modi`s reactions came after the seer`s aide reportedly wrote a letter to the Gujarat Chief Minister objecting to the remarks made by him at the Chennai rally.
While the excavation work has been going on in Unnao from the past few days, the government has defended the move and said that the digging is being carried out on the basis of a Geological Survey of India (GSI) report that claims presence of alloys in the ground.
