Baghpat: A panchayat in Bhagpat, Uttar Pradesh, gave an extremely senseless ruling when it ordered just five slaps as punishment for three men accused of gang-raping a 15-year-old girl.
The accused were then set free.
According to reports, the girl was allegedly kidnapped by the three men while she was en route to school and gang-raped.
The Baghpat police has registered a complaint against the three accused as well as the panchayat. The three accused are absconding, reports CNN-IBN.
In December 2015, a Haryana panchayat had ordered five shoe slaps as punishment for two persons, who were accused of gang-raping a girl in Hisar district.
