New Delhi: Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati launched a scathing attack on the ruling NDA government on Saturday and said that the party is trying to take advantange of communal tensions in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the upcoming bypolls.

“We had demanded imposition of President`s Rule in the UP. However, BJP is trying to take advantage of the recent communal tension in UP as the elections are drawing near,” the BSP chief said while addressing a press conference.

She added that the three-month term of the central government has turned out to be disappointing so far.
She also said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is evolving as an unconstitutional organisation and that the comment made by its chief Mohan Bhagwat on Hindutva can cause communal tension in the country.

Bhagwat had stirred a controversy recently when he said that India is a Hindu nation and Hindutva is its identity.
Referring to the recent cancellation of talks between India and Pakistan, Mayawati said that the step seems to be politically motivated rather than being a diplomatic one.

She also took a dig at Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh and said that whichever party he joins suffers downfall.
