Etah: An FIR has been filed against Jalesar Tehsildar by his wife for allegedly assaulting her at his residence here, police said on Tuesday.
Police said a heated argument broke out between Tehsildar Anand Singh and his wife Vandana when the latter saw another woman at his house yesterday.
Vandana alleged she was then beaten up by her husband, police said, adding she has been sent to hospital for medical examination.
She also accused her husband of having illegitimate relationship with another woman, police said.
Refuting the charges, Singh said he was not having extra-marital affair and Vandana's claim is totally false.
The tehsildar further said Vandana was living separately since 2005 and he was not on talking terms with her.
The matter is under investigation, they said.
