Fast by pharmacy students enters fifth day in West Bengal

Jalpaiguri: The fast by some students of Jalpaiguri Pharmacy college demanding fresh holding of examination, entered the fifth day on Monday as they held a silent procession here.

The students insisted that the fourth semester examination which they had to skip due to alleged anomalies in their admit cards on December 5 last should be held again.

About 35 students of the college are on fast since Thursday to demand fresh holding of the fourth semester examination.

Two students, who became serious yesterday and were admitted to the hospital, were released today as their condition became stable.

College incharge Gouranga Das said the decision to hold fresh examination has to be taken by the university authorities and that he did not have any power to make any decision.
