One killed, 8 injured in clash between CPI, TMC activists in WB

One person was killed and eight others were injured in a clash between Trinamool Congress and CPI activists in West Midnapore district.

Midnapore: One person was killed and eight others were injured in a clash between Trinamool Congress and CPI activists in West Midnapore district.

A clash broke out between the activists of the two rival political parties over digging of a pond at Budra village near Kharagpur town last night, police said Thursday.

Prabodh Patar (53), who was injured in the clash, succumbed to injuries in the Midnapore Medical College Hospital while eight others injured in the clash have been admitted to the hospital, they added.

 In another incident, the CPI(M) party office at Kotbazar in Midnapore town was set on fire last night, police said.

 The CPI(M) alleged that miscreants supported by the TMC set their party office on fire. The TMC denied the CPI(M) allegations.
