Kolkata: The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has announced that it will hold a State Level Selection Test for appointment of assistant teachers in government aided secondary and higher secondary schools.

Of the 18,203 vacancies, 15,947 are for Honours/Post Graduation, 1,019 for physical education, and 1,237 for other disciplines.

The exam date will be notified by the commission in due course.

Eligible candidates can apply for the test on the commission's website: westbengalssc.com from February 19, 2016 to March 15, 2016.

The commission will issue a detailed notice for the vacancies on its website on February 16, 2016.

Candidates will be selected based on their merit and academic qualifications as specified for the purpose in the advertisement.
