Kolkata: West Bengal Speaker Biman Banerjee adjourned the House on Wednesday at the start of the day's proceeding as Finance Minister Amit Mitra, who was to lay the West Bengal Finance Bill, 2015, was not present.

The House was to start at 10 AM instead of customary 11 AM on the last day of the budget session.

After completion of laying of reports by a minister, the speaker noticed that Mitra was not present. Banerjee then announced the adjournment saying that Mitra was probably delayed due to the inclement weather.

The House, however, resumed after five minutes.

Later, the Speaker told reporters that he had noticed Mitra stepping inside when he left the House after adjourning it.
