London: Egypt has vowed to continue an offensive in the restive Sinai Peninsula, a day after Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) killed more than 100 people in a series of simultaneous attacks in the region.

Egypt`s army said that operations will not stop until the area was cleared of all `terrorist concentrations`, reported the BBC.

Yesterday`s attacks targeted military checkpoints in Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah. It was one of the largest ever coordinated offensives in the area by ISIS` local affiliate, Sinai Province.

The restive peninsula has been under a state of emergency and a curfew since October, when dozens of soldiers were killed in a militant attack.
