Duesseldorf: The family members of 44 of the 150 victims of the ill-fated Germanwings plane, deliberately crashed by co-pilot Andreas Lubitz into the French Alps, will be allowed to see the coffins of their loved ones in the airport in Duesseldorf on Wednesday.

They will be permitted to see the remains of the victims inside the hangar at the airport, as per a BBC news report.

The remains of the 44 Germans are the first to arrive by a special Lufthansa flight from Marseille on Tuesday after delay over errors on the death certificate by the authorities in France.

Out of the total 150 victims, 18 included 16 students and two teachers, from Joseph-Koenig-Gymnasium school in Haltern and the cortege will drive past the school later today.

The remains of the remaining victims, from 18 countries, will be sent over the coming weeks.

The Germanwings Airbus 320 was crashed into the French Alps deliberately by 27-year-old co-pilot in March this year while it was travelling from Barcelona to Duesseldorf.

It was later revealed that Lubitz was suffering from severe depression and the plane was crashed deliberately by him.
