Washington: Hillary Rodham Clinton, who in a video announcement on Sunday confirmed her much speculated candidacy for 2016 US Presidential race, took a road trip to Iowa on the same day to kick off the campaign.
Hillary, who has in past assumed the role of the First Lady as the wife of Bill Clinton, US Senator and Secretary of State, is being touted as one of the strongest contenders for the race and even President Barack Obama has expressed confidence in her by saying that she would make for an excellent president.
Soon after announcing her presidential bid for 2016 race in a video message, Hillary got off to a quick start for her campaign as she hit the road to Iowa (the state which holds the first presidential caucuses), to have direct talks with the voters. Iowa is

Zeroing in on the issue of income inequality, which would apparently be the pivotal point of her presidential campaign, Hillary said, “Americans have fought their way back from tough economic times, but the deck is still stacked in favor of those at the top.”
Besides zooming in on income inequality and economic aspects of the Americans, Hillary's campaign will also cash in on her prospects of being the first woman president of the US.
Clinton had earlier stood for the President in 2008, a race which she lost to fellow Democrat contender Barack Obama.
Hillary might be in the very nascent stage of her campaigning but brickbats have already started pouring in as former Florida governor and Jeb Bush (a probable Republican contender) lashed out against her foreign policy.
Speaking in a video message, which was posted on his Twitter, Jeb Bush urged his party to "do better than Hillary", saying, "We must do better than the Obama-Clinton foreign policy that has damaged relationships with our allies and emboldened our enemies".
Jeb Bush, sibling of former US president George W Bush, has not yet declared his candidacy though chances are high that he might as he leads in opinion polls for the primary elections.

Other Republican contenders who have declared candidacy recently are Senator Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, who too reacted against Hillary even before her bid announcement.
