Islamic State gets more brutal, begins use of 'Clipper' against women

Beirut: In another act of savagery, Islamic State has introduced a metal instrument to punish women whose clothes they claim do not completely cover their body.

'The Biter' or 'Clipper' – as it is called in Mosul – causes excruciating pain when it clips off the pieces of flesh of the 'offender'.
As per a report in The Independent, a 22-year-old woman, who escaped Mosul after several attempts, told that the 'The Biter' has become a nightmare for the women in the region.

“My sister was punished so harshly last month because she had forgotten her gloves and left them at home. The bruises and scars are still visible on her arm. The biting punishment is more painful than labour pains,” she revealed.

In the area which is dominated by Islamic State militants, women are bound to be fully veiled, wear loose or baggy trousers, socks and gloves, and be accompanied by a male relative whenever they step outside their homes.

With growing dominance of ISIS in Mosul, the living condition has become miserable as there is shortage of food, medicines and other essential items.

In the recent months, public whippings and executions have become more common in the region. Even minor crimes invite harsh punishments.
