Prince George christened, names of godparents revealed

The three-month-old royal Prince George was christened on Wednesday.

London: The three-month-old royal Prince George was christened on Wednesday. The names of the seven godparents of the royal prince have already been announced by the palace ahead of the ceremony.

The prince was christened at St James Palace in London and by Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.
The guest list for the christening included Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and wife Camilla, Prince Harry, Pippa Middleton and brother James and Michael and Carole Middleton.

The names of the seven godparents include friends of the royal couple, aristocrats and a royal cousin among others.

They are Oliver Baker, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, Earl Grosvenor, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Julia Samuel, William van Cutsem and Zara Tindall.

A close friend of late Princess Diana, Julia Samuel is named one of the godparents.

Princess Zara Phillips, cousin of Prince William, is the only member of the royal family who will be a godparent.

Oliver Baker is an old friend of Prince William and Kate Middleton who attended the St Andrews University with them.

Emilia Jardine-Paterson went to the Marlborough College with the Duchess of Cambridge.

Earl Grosvenor is the son of Duke of Westminster.

Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton was the private secretary to Prince Williams and Kate Middleton from 2005-2012.

Zara Phillips is the cousin of Prince Williams who is married to rugby player Mike Tindall.

William van Cutsem is the childhood friend of the royal couple.

Prince George was born on July 22 and is the third in line for the royal throne.
