Suspected Islamists kill eight in NE Nigeria village: Locals

Suspected Boko Haram gunmen killed eight people in a raid on a village in northeastern Nigeria`s Borno state, a local resident and a vigilante said Thursday.

Kano: Suspected Boko Haram gunmen killed eight people in a raid on a village in northeastern Nigeria`s Borno state, a local resident and a vigilante said Thursday.

"The gunmen we believe to be from Boko Haram came into our village around 9 pm yesterday (Wednesday) and shot dead eight people," said Umar Goni, a resident of the village of Pompomari. The toll was confirmed by a member of a vigilante group which assist the military in fighting the Islamists.
