New Delhi: In view of Covid-19 and upcoming Assembly polls, the Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration has announced to extend the existing Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) till March 31.

Ashutosh Dwivedi, the additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) law and order, issued an order on Monday (January 31, 2022) to prohibit the gathering of four or more people in a public space.

Restrictions in Noida till March 31

  • No one will be allowed in public places without face masks.
  • Night curfew to continue between 10 pm to 6 am, exempting essential services.
  • Maximum 100 people are allowed in closed spaces for weddings and 50% of the total capacity in open spaces.
  • Protests and processions without permission from authorities have been restricted.
  • No roadshows, rallies, pad yatras or bike rallies can be taken out till February 11.
  • Political parties and contesting candidates can hold a physical public meeting in designated open spaces with a maximum capacity of 1,000 people or 50 per cent capacity of the ground.
  • Political parties can hold indoor meetings with a maximum of 500 persons or 50% of the capacity of the hall.
  • Only 20 persons will be allowed to take part in door-to-door campaigns.
  • Students appearing for exams can not assemble in groups of more than 5 people.
  • No person will be allowed to open a photostat shop within a 200 m radius of an examination centre, one day before the exam.

People found disobeying the order will be booked under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
