Having produced some of the best football players in the world, Argentina now seems to have passed on its infectious game frenzy to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he recieved a special jersey from the Federation Internationale de Football Association's (FIFA) president Gianni Infantino on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in the country.
Prime Minister Modi, who was on a three-day visit to Argentina for the Global G20 summit in Buenos Aires, took to his official Twitter handle and shared the picture of the blue jersey with his name written on the back of the jersey.
He thanked the FIFA president for his beautiful gesture while adding that it is impossible to not think about football when in Argentina.
“Impossible to come to Argentina and not think about football. Argentinian players are tremendously popular in India. Today, received this jersey from @FIFAcom President Gianni Infantino. I thank him for the kind gesture,” the Prime Minister tweeted.

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Modi had also elaborated how India and Argentina are connected because of football while addressing the ‘Yoga for Peace’ event in Buenos Aires.
"If Argentina is interested in India's philosophy, art, music and dance, there are millions of fans of the Argentine football stars in India. Maradona's name is used as a proverb in India," he had said.
The Prime Minister on Saturday (local time) left for New Delhi after concluding a hectic three-day tour of Argentina where he attended the 13th G20 Summit for state leaders, apart from hosting a number of high-profile and historic meetings.
