Mumbai: Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi took a dig at Karan Johar a day after the latter announced the arrival of his twin children – Roohi and Yash – through surrogacy.
Commenting on the Bollywood producer-director’s decision to embrace fatherhood through a surrogate mother, Azmi said, “Itne bade ho gaye, shaadi nahin kar sakte? Koi beemari hai toh adopt kar lo. Surrogacy ka kya naatak hai ye?”.
Here’s a rough translation – “He is old enough, can’t he get married? If he has some illness, then he can adopt a child. What is this surrogacy drama?”
