New Delhi: Bollywood filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar on Tuesday took to Twitter to criticise lyricist Javed Akhtar's 'hardly literate' tweet. The 48-year-old director stated that education has nothing to do with freedom of expression.
"Sir Lack of education has nothing to do with freedom of expression.I am a 6th fail student, still nobody can stop me from expressing my views," he tweeted.
Here, Madhur was reacting to Javed's social media post which said, “If a hardly literate player or a wrestler troll a pacifist daughter of a martyr its understandable but whats wrong with some educated folks.”
The noted joined the much-talked-about Gurmehar Kaur debate when he allegedly criticised Yogeshwar Dutt and cricketer Virendra Sehwag for 'mocking' her.

Few days after the Delhi University’s (DU) Ramjas college saw violent clashes between student groups, Gurmehar - a Lady Sri Ram College (LSRC) student initiated a social media campaign targeting Bhartiya Janta Party’s (BJP) student outfit Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
After this, Virendra and Yogeshwar poster pictures online which 'made fun' of her campaign.
