Mumbai: Controversy’s favourite child – Ram Gopal Verma – courted trouble after making a sexist remark through his tweet on the occasion of International Women’s day yesterday. The filmmaker’s reference to Sunny Leone in his tweet turned out to be an objectionable one!

RGV tweeted: “I wish all the women in the world give men as much happiness as Sunny Leone gives (sic).”

According to a tweet by ANI, a complaint was filed against the filmmaker by an activist named Vishaka Mhambre in Goa.

But Varma remained indifferent. He responded to the complaint by tweeting, “Filing counter against OverActivist wid 212 followers which wud b her family n friends, for disrespecting 18 lakh followers of @SunnyLeone (sic).”

Interestingly, Sunny apparently didn’t seem offended by RGV’s tweet. She tweeted:

Later in the day, RGV appreciated Leone’s honesty. He wrote: “The negative noise towards my tweet on @SunnyLeone arises from ultimate hypocrisy. She has more honesty and more self respect than any woman (sic).”

After responding to a number of reactions on Twitter, RGV wrote, “Happy #WomensDay to all the women around the world because it's u women who make the whole world go around (sic).”
