New Delhi: The chhote nawab of Bollywood Saif Ali Khan recently grabbed the headlines for confessing that he feels 'nervous' about daughter Sara Ali Khan's big screen debut. The darling daughter Sara is about to enter the showbiz world with Abhishek Kapoor's 'Kedarnath' starring Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead opposite her.

However, it seems that Saif's remarks about Sara's debut film has irked former wife Amrita Singh. According to Pinkvilla.com, after the 'Rangoon' actor in an interview with a daily revealed how he feels 'nervous' about his daughter entering the film business, his statement has not gone down too well with Amrita.

Reportedly, she called him up and slammed the 'Cocktail' actor for his statement. The report quotes a source as saying, “She told him it was an irresponsible thing to say considering Sara is about to embark on a film career.”

“Saif didn’t want to be dragged into an argument, so he mumbled that he was ‘quoted out of context’ and calmed down his former wife”, adds the source.

Immediately after this, Saif at another press conference did some damage control. He said, “"I love my daughter, support her and I think her choice is great. Of course, she is an actress, she belongs to a family of artistes, which is great, but I am still a little concerned for her as it is an unsure profession. Because I love her, I worry for her. That’s all I am saying. Is that clear? People write things like, ‘He doesn’t know what he is saying. He doesn’t know his mind.’ I find that annoying.”
