New Delhi: Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 has returned to a physical avatar with this year’s edition. Several brands have already showcased their products while a few are waiting to unveil their futuristic technologies in the final days of the world’s most influential technology event.
Here is a list of 5 technologies showcased at CES 2022:
BMW unveils colour-changing car
BMW has unveiled the world’s first "colour-changing" car at the CES 2022 in Las Vegas. The German carmaker has named the concept car BMW iX Flow. The four-wheeler uses electronic ink technology to change the car’s exterior into a variety of patterns in gray and white. The tech is normally used by e-readers.
"This is really energy efficient colour change using the technology E Ink," said BMW research engineer Stella Clarke. "So we took this material - it’s kind of a thick paper - and our challenge was to get this on a 3D object like our cars."
Volvo to debut self-driving feature
Volvo is planning to launch its self-driving feature as a subscription upgrade to customers after vehicles have already hit the road. During a press conference at CES 2022, vice president of strategy and business ownership at Volvo Alexander Petrofski said that the cars will go on sale in 2023, but Volvo has not set a date for when Ride Pilot will be available.
