For general citizens, SBI Amrit Kalash FD Scheme offers a 7.1 percent interest rate and senior citizens can get 7.6 percent interest on the sum they invested in it.

The State Bank of India indicated on its website that the interest rate for the specific tenor scheme of "400 days" (Amrit Kalash) would increase to 7.10 percent as of April 12, 2023. Senior citizens are entitled to a 7.60 percent interest rate. The programme will be in effect until June 30, 2023.

Domestic retail term deposits under Rs 2 crore are eligible for the SBI Amrit Kalash fixed deposit plan. This covers term deposits held in non-resident Indian rupees.

The fixed deposit programme is applicable to both initial deposits and renewals. Term deposits and special term deposits are also covered by the Amrit Kalash programme of the State Bank of India.

The Amrit Kalash plan will pay interest at intervals of every month, every quarter, or every half-year. The interest on special-term deposits will be paid when they mature. At the end of the FD's term, SBI will deposit the interest net of TDS into the customer's account.
