The domestic scooter market is getting flooded with new entrants lately. Several players like Ola Electric, Simple Energy, Omega Seiki Mobility, Komaki, Ather Energy are eying to capture the domestic electric vehicle space. While some are already available in the market, some would reach the customers by the year- end. EV makers are also tapping on the B2B segment scooter that serves the purpose of local deliveries for the businesses.

Ola S1 and S1 Pro

Ola S1 and S1 Pro

Ola Electric on forayed into the green mobility space with the launch of its first electric scooter, Ola S1, at a price starting from Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom) on August 15. The Ola S1 electric scooter would come in two trims -- S1 and S1 Pro -- carrying a price tag of Rs 99,999 and Rs 1,29,999, respectively. The company will officially open Ola S1 for purchase from September 8, and start deliveries across 1,000 cities and towns in October. Till September 8, the company will keep accepting the bookings at Rs 499. The Ola S1 comes with a range of 181 km, a top speed of 115 km per hour and can be fully charged in less than 40 minutes with a fast charger, and around six hours with the portable charger that will come with the scooter and can be installed at homes. The scooter comes with various features like reverse mode, hill hold function, driving modes and cruise control and takes less than 3 seconds to cross 0-40 km per hour. It comes with keyless lock and unlock system and safety features like an anti-theft alert system and geo-fencing. The scooter comes in 10 colours with in-house development 8.5 KW motor and 3.97 kWh battery packs. Ola is setting up a manufacturing plant, spread across 500 acres, in Tamil Nadu.

Simple One

Simple One

Simply Energy also launched its electric scooter on the same day as Ola i.e, August 15. Simple One electric bike is now available pre-orders. You can pre-order the Simple One for Rs 1,947. Simple One has been launched at Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom price). The Simple One has been launched with four standard colors --Brazen Black, Azure Blue, Grace White and each metro-city will also have an extra colour to its offering. The color Namma Red is available only in Bangalore. Simple One electric bike promises a range of 236 kms. The top speed that Simple One can achieve is 105kmph. The bike has 4.8kWh Battery (combined fixed and portable) and 7kW Motor. Simple One offers a smart dashboard, an app to connect to your One, Tire Pressure Monitoring System among many and Bluetooth connectivity for your calls and music needs.

Omega ZORO and FIARE

Omega ZORO and FIARE

Omega Seiki Mobility on Thursday announced its entry into the two-wheeler segment with the launch of two scooter models -- Zoro and Fiare. OSM Two-Wheeler EV’s ZORO and FIARE will offer speed of 45 KM/h having a range of over 85 Kms in a single charge. The electric vehicles will be available in 7 colours.

Ather 450X

Ather 450X

The Ather 450X has a top speed of 80 km/h and sprints from 0-40 km/hr in 3.3 sec. The company claims a certified range of 116 km. The bike comes with Water-resistant IP 67 rated pressure die cast aluminum battery pack, two disc brakes for front and rear, 22L storage, and an 7 inch LCD display. Ather 450X is priced at Rs 1,44,500.

In June this year, TVS Motor Company Ltd launched its electric scooter TVS iQube Electric, an urban scooter powered by an advanced electric drivetrain at a price of Rs 115,218. TVS iQube Electric is equipped with a 4.4 kW electric motor and has a maximum speed of 78 kmph and traverses 75 kms with a full charge. The e-bike is IP67 water and dust resistant, equipped with front telescopic and rear hydraulic twin tube shock absorber suspension. Weighing 118 kg, this bike has a peak wheel torque of 140 Nm.
