G20 Summit 2023: World Leaders Arrive In India, Receive Tradition Welcome! Check PICS

The leaders of the G20 major countries will meet in India to discuss urgent global challenges amid a polarising geopolitical environment brought on by the conflict in Ukraine. In order to improve security and logistical planning for the event, India has gone to considerable lengths, including murals, drones, and enormous cutouts of langurs. While many of them have already arrived, today would see the arrival of the world leaders in the city. According to sources, the Centre has also given several union ministers of state responsibility for welcoming the visitors. The following is a list of world leaders who have arrived in India to attend the G20 Summit.

Giorgia Meloni, the prime minister of Italy, was welcomed at the airport in New Delhi on Friday, September 8 by Shobha Karandlaje, the union minister of state for agriculture and farmers' welfare.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president of Nigeria, was greeted by SP Singh Baghel, the minister of state for health, upon his arrival in Delhi as the first Head of Delegation for the G20 Summit.

Pravind Kumar Jagnauth, the prime minister of Mauritius, is welcomed to India by Shripad Naik, the union minister of state for tourism and ports.

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, is welcomed to India by Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel on September 7.

For the G20 Summit, Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, has also arrived.

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the WTO's director general, arrived in New Delhi on September 7 in time for the G20 Summit.

Prahalad Singh Patel, the Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Food Processing Industries, welcomes Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, to India.

Raquel Buenrostro Sanchez, the head of the delegation from the United Mexican States' Ministry of Economics, arrived in India on Thursday (September 7) for the G20 Summit in New Delhi.
