TikTok, Zoom, Arogya Setu: Check out top 10 downloaded apps globally in May 2020
Short video-making app TikTok has topped the chart of the most downloaded app (non-game) in May 2020, with more than 111.9 million installs worldwide, out of which India contributed 20 percent of the overall downloads. TikTok's latest surge comes amid the global COVID-19 pandemic, which has seen consumers drawn to their mobile devices more than ever as they look for new ways to shop, work, and connect with others. The video making app has led to a lot of boycott calls in India lately.
Social media giant Facebook was at the fourth position. In April, the social networking giant announced that for the first time ever, there are now more than 3 billion people actively using Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or Messenger each month globally. That includes 2.6 billion people using Facebook alone, and more than 2.3 billion people using at least one of its services every day.

Arogya Setu was at eighth position. Government had on April 2, 2020 launched the mobile application for tracking cases of coronavirus COVID-19 infections. The app has been launched for Android and iOS users. Developed by the National Informatics Centre that comes under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the app will tell the user if they came near a COVID-19 infected person.
