Chinese startup China Car Custom backed by smartphone giant Xiaomi has unveiled an electric sports car named SC01 which is priced at only $42,000; making it the cheapest electric sportscar ever made. The SC01 weighs about 1.3 tons and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
Car tuning startup China Car Custom, backed by Xiaomi has announced a sports car called the SC01 and announced its official entry into the development and production of performance sports cars, much like multiple Chinese EV startups, including Xiaomi, which is separately working on an affordable electric vehicle. The SC01 weighs about 1.3 tons and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, driven by dual electric motors with a peak power of 320 kW. The model will cost less than 300,000 yuan ($42,000) and will be available for official orders starting in the third quarter of 2023, with deliveries beginning in the fourth quarter of next year.
