The late comedian was not only a great stand up but was also a great mimickry artist and his sets on Lalu Yadav and Amitabh Bachchan are one of the most popular among fans.

The Samajwadi Party fielded Raju Srivastava from Kanpur for the 2014 Lok Sabha election but the comedian later returned the ticket. He joined Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2019.
