TV star Mahhi Vij and hubby Jay Bhanushali trolled for abandoning their foster children, actress hits back
The ' Balika Vadhu' actress Mahhi Vij tied the knot with Jay Bhanushali in 2011. Later, in 2017, the couple had decided to foster their caretaker's kids - Rajveer and Khushi and had taken it upon themselves to fund their education. The couple also invited the kids to reside with them.
Due to the complex family dynamics between them and their caretaker's kids and their own biological daughter, trolls have often attacked the couple for feigning the adoption for publicity. Angry netizens have also pointed fingers at the couple for allegedly abandoning Khushi and Rajveer after their biological daughter Tara was born.

In 2017, reports had emerged stating that the TV couple had decided to foster their caretaker's two children - Rajveer and Khushi and fund their complete education. The children are not only taken care of financially but were also residing with the couple. However, currently, they are in their hometown with their biological extended family.
Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali clear adoption rumours
In an exclusive chat with Zoom Digital, actors Mahhi Vij, and Jay Bhanushali claimed that they haven't legally adopted Rajveer and Khushi as they already have parents. However, she maintained, they have fostered them and the kids called her 'mumma' and Jay 'dadda'.
Mahhi said, "We have not adopted them (Rajveer and Khushi). They have parents. The father is still working with us. They have a mother. It is just that they have stayed with us since the time they were born. They call me mumma and Jay dadda. We were all together. We were like a happy family. There is nothing like legal adoption. I do not know where that came from."
The couple had their biological daughter in 2019
The TV couple Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali welcomed their biological daughter Tara in 2019. However, in an old Instagram post, she had clarified that Tara's birth hadn't changed their feelings towards Khushi and Rajveer.
Recently, in the Zoom Digital interview, when asked if Tara understands the dynamic between them and their foster kids, Mahhi explained, "She (Tara) is so small. She does not know anything. Tara, jab tak unke saath thi (when Tara was with them), they all gelled well. They used to play, sleep and eat together. Both the kids are not here. They left for their hometown as COVID cases increased. Their grandfather back home was very worried. He wanted the kids back home. It was their decision to go and they feel safer there."
'Rajveer and Khushi have two homes'
A few months ago, Mahhi Vij had taken to Instagram to clear the air on why Rajveer and Khushi aren't being seen with the Bhanushali in pictures and posts. She explained that the two of them are living in their hometown to spend time with their extended family and grandparents. Mahhi added, "The kids will keep coming and will have two homes for a lifetime, one in their hometown and one with us."
The actress concluded the post by asking fans to stop questioning them or accusing them of child abandonment and asked them to, instead, shower blessings on their family.
'Trolls are losers for me'

When questioned about the criticism and hate, Mahhi said, "It used to bother me initially... I am not answerable to people. They (trolls) do not have faces. They have fake accounts. I am answerable to my god, my husband, and my parents. They (trolls) just do this for attention. They are losers for me."
