'Aapko thand nahi lagti kya?': Congress leaders praise Rahul Gandhi's t-shirt adventure, call him supernatural, ascetic

On December 24, Rahul Gandhi addressed people from the Red Fort complex and at that time too, he was wearing a t-shirt. He even spoke about why he's been walking in a mere t-shirt in North India's chilly winter as his Bharat Jodo Yatra reached the national capital. "They keep asking me how I do not feel cold," he said, referring to journalists' questions. "But they do not ask the farmer, the worker, poor children, this question," he added, speaking further about those who may not be able to afford basics such as warm clothes.

Now, on December 26, Rahul Gandhi visited Rajghat- the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, Vijay Ghat- the memorial of former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, Sadai Atal- the memorial of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Veer Bhoomi- the memorial of Rajiv Gandhi, Shanti Van- the memorial of Pt Jawhar Lal Nehru, Shakti Sthal- the memorial of Indira Gandhi and the memorials of former prime minister Chaudhary Charan Singh and former deputy prime minister Jagjivan Ram to pay tributes.

Reacting to his visit to the memorials in a t-shirt, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said, "How can one survive in 6 degrees only in a T-shirt? Only ascetics can have such self-control, self-power."

"He (Rahul Gandhi) is supernatural. We are shivering in the cold and wearing jackets, he is travelling (for the Bharat Jodo tour) wearing a T-shirt. He is doing penance like a yogi," said Congress leader Salman Khurshid.

Political analyst Tehseen Poonawala said, "Many are commenting about Rahul Gandhi ji in this cold in just a t-shirt. This is the power of mental, physical, emotional & spiritual fitness. Our body becomes indifferent to extreme cold due to meditation & fitness (images of monks in snow-clad mountains wearing v little)."
