Independence Day: PM Narendra Modi arrives at Rajghat, pays floral tribute - In pics

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the nation in celebrating the 74th Independence Day at the majestic Red Fort here on Saturday. He will unfurl the national flag and deliver his seventh consecutive I-Day address to the nation from the ramparts of the iconic monument.

Prior to addressing the nation on the auspicious occasion, PM Modi visited Rajghat where he payed tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi after which he proceeded towards Red Fort to take forward the Independence day ceremony.

The Ministry of Defence is organising the Independence Day Flag Hoisting Ceremony on August 15 at the Red Fort maintaining the balance between the sanctity and dignity of the national function while factoring in precautions related to the COVID-19 scenario.
