Meanwhile, Uttarakhand reported 1,333 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Sunday taking the total number of the cases in the state to 1,08,812. The active cases in the state now stand at 7,323. According to the tally released by the state health department in the evening, 408 fresh cases of Covid-19 were detected during the past 24 hours across Haridwar district.

A large number of individuals were spotted on Monday without face masks. Numerous individuals were also found violating COVID-19 protocols in place. Mela Inspector General Sanjay Gunjyal said, “100 percent compliance with COVID-19 norms was not possible with such a large crowd of seers converging on the ghats.”
