23% Population Of This Country Leaves Islam Shocking Everyone; Know Why

A large survey conducted by the University of Michigan from 1981 to 2020 found that in countries like Tunisia, Morocco, and Iraq, many people who were traditionally Muslim now identify as atheists. In Lebanon, about 43% admitted they do not practice Islam in their private lives, although they may not express this openly due to the severe punishments for apostasy in Muslim-majority countries.

Even in the Muslim-majority country of Iran, people are leaving Islam to adopt other religions. In 2023, an Iranian religious leader mentioned that some members of the Bakhtiari tribe have converted to Zoroastrianism, while others have adopted Christianity.

In the United Kingdom, a significant number of people are leaving Islam, with *The Times* reporting that around 100,000 people abandon the religion annually.

A 2020 report by the German newspaper Die Welt highlighted that between 15,000 to 20,000 people leave Islam in Germany each year.

In the United States, about 23% of adults who were raised in Muslim families no longer identify as Muslims. This translates to around 1.3 million people leaving Islam. Of these, approximately 7% cited disagreement with Islamic teachings as a reason.
